CLC5151 with personality

I have a case with a CLC 5151 connected to a controller H1 V2.0.

Sometimes it prints and sometimes you have to hit "Print" 2 or 3 times in a row for it to print.
Customer calls it "printer with personality". If the printer likes the job - it prints it, if not than NO Print.

Now besides jokes - is there some patch for this problem which needs to be installed on the controller ?
Anyone experienced this issue ?

Do all attached workstations behave the same way, or just certain ones?

One of my PCs at home has the same issue when printing to the HP printer shared off of another PC (both XP). The other PCs have no problem.

Some files print fine - others. not so much.

I think the print spooler on the sending machine is getting a bit wiggy.

BTW... It's all I can do to hold back the jokes...

All workstation behave the same.

The strange thing is that: You print once - ok
You print the same thing again - nothing

This happens randomly - that's why I am just guessing around...

Earlier model of CWS5 have similar issue.Do you have windows?

Have you tried reloading system software?

This is more than likely the issue.

I had the problem before, was really weird. The customer was very local so one day they'd call up saying it wouldn't work then the next day it'd work fine, then it worked fine for a fortnight then played up again...

Turns out it was somebodys laptop, and they went on holiday for 2 weeks

Nope - No IP conflict. One of First things I checked.

Customer has "a closed group" of workstations. Just 4 of them and a bunch of equipment. No laptops coming into it.
All manual IP. All good.

Now regarding CWS-5.
The problem is when they print from application : exp Autocad or Illustrator.
If they print from CWS - everything is fine.

I seem to have the same issue. Mostly from PDFs though. Printer information bubble thing says 'this document was sent to the printer', but it never arrives (is not recorded in the CLC5151 print log as an error or anything) and the server log does not record any error either - it just never arrives. As previous post, the second or third time of trying it gets there, and prints just fine....?
