Open hopper covers. In service mode turn on "install toner" and make visual check. It's take 15 minutes! If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Re: Canon Ir3045 toner bottle
toner bottle will stop turning if toner sensor in sub hopper detect the presence of toner. it becomes a problem if toner in developing assembly and sub hopper are empty then you got message replace toner cartridge but toner in the bottle is still full. if you insert a new bottle toner, and toner sensor in sub hopper detects the presence of toner, bottle toner will not turn unless toner sensor in sub hopper detects the absence of toner. to ensure bottle toner turn or not you have to install toner on service mode COPIER > FUNCTION > INSTALL > TONER-S, but if toner sensor in sub hopper still detect the presence of toner, bottle toner will not turn, to make bottle toner turn, we should pull out toner in developing and sub hopper, so both toner sensor in dev assy and sub hopper detect the absence of toner. Just to check turn or not bottle motor, usually I use part check on Function of Service mode, Open toner cover, place a small plate to bypass toner cover sensor. as soon as the bottle toner turn, pull out the small plate to make bottle toner stop turning, don't let bottle toner continue turning. (Operation check performed with the toner container installed may cause toner leak in the machine.) Toner container motor (M5), motor code = 5, COPIER > FUNCTION > PART-CHK>MTRLearning never ends..
Never give up, where there is a wheel there is a way..

Re: Canon Ir3045 toner bottle
I had a case like that.
Some plastic (half circle shaped) was broken inside the hopper unit. I found it out when I tore it apart.
Turned out customer had been using non original toner. The funny thing is that the box of the compatible toner was 100% the same as original.
I kept looking at it to see any difference but nothing (even the hologram was the same).
The only way to check is the toner bottle. On the original you will see engraved "Canon".
The compatible says "other"
And I believe that compatible bottles have different engaging plastic resistance which leads to breaking the hopper unit.Comment
