You're rite. I'm not a copy tech. I'm an auto-mechanic instead. Ha..ha!
But i'm a proud owner of an irc3580i, an ir5000, an ir8070 and 3 units of ir3300. Next month i'm getting myself a bigger mamma - a 7105.
just that my tech can't seem to fix my 5000 rite. Your input will help him i guess!
I have error code E0069 showing on a ir8070. what does it mean?
tq.
1-Check for cracked high voltage cable to trans/sep assy.
2-Check upper and lower fuser rollers for wear on bearings/bushings/Uneven nip pressure due to wear may short out fuser bias resulting in E069.
3-Inspect the rear side of the Fixing / Feeder Frame Assembly for physical damage/can cause the Feeder High Voltage cable or the Fixing High Voltage cable to arc to the frame which will load down the High Voltage Transformer pcb's and cause the E069 code.
4-A problem with the Fixing Bias circuit or Transfer Guide Bias circuit may be the cause of the E069.
5-Rear side of the Upper Fuser roller /there is a Fixing Bias tab that can become bent or deformed.
6-A bias voltage is applied to the fuser assembly and the paper feeder guide and if this bias voltage shorts to the frame it will cause E069 code.
7-Inspect is the condition of the black mylar shields for the Upper and Lower Pre-Transfer Guides/If the black mylar shields are wrinkled, ripped, torn or frayed, arcing of the Transfer Guide bias may occur, which will cause the E069 code/Try covering the Upper and Lower Pre-Transfer Guides with electrical tape.
8-Check the Transfer / Separation corona assembly contacts on the inside rear mechanical plate. If the contacts are separated then tighten them.
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
