hi ,

In canon ir 2020i , i tried scanning using send option , when i browse using windows SMB , and select the computer , it asks for the user id / password.when i enter the user id and password , it says check the user id / password .though i have entered correct login details , it doesnt allow me to login .

please advise.

Sometimes Canon copier can't recognize all windows characters.To be shore,try to change password to something simple.

Can you open folder on some other computer?

try another user and password. disable firewall and antivirus for a while

my computer doesnt have user name and password .

i entered a space in user id and pwd , but it says enter uid / pswd. in Windows 7 .

the same thing in win XP computer worked well when i entered a space for uid/pwd.

any other settings needed .

please advise .

Try "administrator"for us and pass.

How to eliminate Password Prompt Windows 7

Press the Windows + R keyboard shortcut. Then enter control userpasswords2 in Run dialog box and hit enter.

Under User Accounts dialog box, un-check the box named Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
