    [Misc] Printing/copying shadows on prints

We have a Canon C3080. When we Print/copy the output will have shadows in it. Text or picture it will print out with shadows. Do I need to change any settings or any parts???

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Is the background/shadows a color or colors ??

If fogging is found in the white area, suspect a fault in the developing system, a fault in the drum, and poor adjustment of the laser exposure system.

run a Full Color 16-Gradation (TYPE=14) to check for fogging in white areas-
    pg14.JPG

when was the last time drum units were changed

when was the last time u did a Auto Calibration of printer and or Fiery

    NOTE***
This device does not have memory in the drum unit, when a new drum is mounted, the drum life counter value stored in the printer needs to be reset.
The device detects old and new drum units, so that the counter can be reset.

The detection is performed by the DC controller CPU monitoring the fuse detection signal.
When the CPU detects that a new drum unit has been mounted, it outputs a fusing signal and blows the fuse on the drum unit. At the same time, the drum life counter resets to 0.

    1. Time of Detection: at power-on, after the front cover is open/closed

    Note:
Do not replace drum units with new ones unnecessarily, in order to check function operations during service, etc. The device blows the drum fuse as soon as it detects a new drum unit and resets the drum life counter to 0. Even if the old drum is replaced immediately, the drum life counter will increment as a new drum unit.

In Service Mode COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL >AINR-OFF invalidates drum initialization that is performed when a new drum unit is installed. Also, the fuse is not blown, as it would usually be after drum initialization is complete.
This mode would be used to replace a drum unit temporarily in order to check image quality, for example trying to trace the cause of the problem.
0: Initialization carried out for new unit. Fuse blown (Default)
1.: No initialization for new unit. Fuse not blown.

Further, this service mode should be set to [1] only when necessary for service. After the service is complete the setting must always be returned to [0].

      Thanks Teckat!!

My apologies im not too technical about this.

I did the full color 16 gradiation check and if fogging means there are some prints that should not be there then it has fogging.

Change of drum unit???? - I have no idea when it was last changed.. I assumed 6 or 8 months ago??? maybe more...

Auto calibration??? Never auto calibrate the copier.. dont know how..

I tried opening the copier and check the inside of it.. the film on top is dirty(did not touch it) and the fuser?? i think that is what its called... its worn out on the side..

I have some experience in troubleshooting laser printer but color copier no experience at all..

any suggestion on what to do???

if I need to buy parts where can I get cheap but reliable parts???

Thanks a lot again in advance!!

press the settings button (*) > adjustment cleaning > auto graduation adjustment > full adjust.

It will do four prints that have to be scanned individually then its done.

You can also try 'clean inside main unit' in the adjustment cleaning section.

Better to purchase a Manual & also learn the Printing process for model in question.
