    [Jamming] Canon IR 2230

This machine is jamming when starting up the right side door, I replaced the primary feed rollers and reverse and ran fine for about 4 Days. they called back and said its still jamming in the same place, went back and cleaned the feed rollers on the side door and it worked fine again but after 4/5 days it started jamming again cleaned rollers again I'm sure they will call back. looking for some ideas, thanks.

Check that micro-switch MSW2 is actuating properly--MSW2 is actuated by linkage from the right side door.

There are oneway gears that drive the vertical pass rollers in the right paper feed door area that can slip on the shaft (2 rollers identically set up with the one way gear). If so first scotch brite the shaft to buy time while gears are on order, you should change the roller that gear rides on as well. Does it happen on both draw feeds, first determine if it is both draws. If paper is not even at the vertical pass rollers and only one tray jams, then look at the torque limiter clutch to the tray that jammed. The torque limiter is near the seperation roller usually the same shaft that sep roller rides. Good Luck

Jam code is a good start. Careful, they can lead you away from the source if you don't understand how things function. Then it becomes replace everything the book says. The manufacturer wins on this logic and they wrote the manual that says change this with this effect. Don't get me wrong, the jam code will help more often then not to atleast get you in the area of the problem. Just don't troubleshoot with parts, that is not cost effective.

Things can mimic other causes, keep an open mind. How is the paper they are using. Recently I had a customer change brands of paper and they called because they suspected the paper. They changed back to what they were using. The A/C at this time of yr in the east is not on full time. Between seasons I often have more jam problems.
