    IRC 3580i Fiery

    Hello

I have just bought a second hand Canon IRC 3580i.

I am familiar with the machine, as we have models of these in field.

It came with a Fiery X3IM-1FPG which to be honest dont have any experience with yet.

I would like to remove it and just have the copier as a standard IPv4 configuration, is this possible? As I noticed that the network connections configuration in control panel is different?

I removed the SCSI card and got up some error messages indicating it wanted me to put the card back in

Could someone please let me know if it is possible and what I need to remove, possibly additional DIMMS / cards

Many Thanks as always to this great community

    Re: IRC 3580i Fiery

In the meantime I was trying to change the IP address of the fiery to my own subnet..... joy

I have a Windows 7 computer and I cannot get the JAVA applet to display when I click on Launch Configure in the fiery.

Is there anyway / telnet / com port / smoke signal I can use to reconfigure the IP address on the fiery?

    Thanks

    V

When a Fiery is fitted to this machine the R-A pcb assembly is removed and replaced with open interface assembly which is the board the fiery plugs into (the one you removed).

Unless you have the R-A pcb assembly I would suggest you leave the Fiery in place, as a matter of interest the R-A pcb assembly looks like the picture provided, in case you still have it.

        Re: IRC 3580i Fiery

Hello Skynet thanks for the info, I have trawled through the forum and found the installation instructions for the fiery, amazing

        I will have to source the original card, as I dont have one in stock can you clarify for me if possible;

Will it return the copier to the standard original network configuration, at present when you go into the control panel the layout different from what I would expect; nowhere to configure IPv4 / DNS / etc. I know it is done via fiery with scsi and cross over cable.

I would like to configure the copier with its own IP as there is no need for the fiery

I would leave the fiery in place but I just cant get any of my computers to reconfigure it, when you click on the button on the admin page to change settings a new window does pop up, but I dont see anything, must be a Java issue, Windows 7 computers.....

        Thanks for the advice

You need FM2-3677-000 R-A PCB ASSEMBLY

Before fitting the board you will need to change a service mode setting > copier > option > int face > img-cont
This will currently be at 3 for the Fiery this needs to be changed to a 0 and ok

This will return the machine to a stock 3580i. As a matter of interest the Fiery provides full adobe PS support you will obviously lose this, a standard 3580i has UFR & pcl .

The easiest way to change the fiery settings is from the copier control panel.
The network settings for the fiery can be found in the printer tab at the top of the screen, you may need to use the arrow. Once the fiery shows ready there's a functions button and run setup. The password is Fiery.1

The default password is Fiery.1 if that doesn't work there is a thread here that discusses resetting the password with the fiery Command Workstation. If you don't have this, KenB has described a way to do it using command prompt here

                  Re: IRC 3580i Fiery

Blast from the past, managed to get some time to take a look at this copier.

I have disconnected the fiery, put in a RA card, changed the int face to 0

I can scan with the copier, but cannot print via network, can see the copier fine over IP, but I cannot print to it via PCL or UFR, I even put a laptop on via USB and the print log is coming up as NG

Is this a licence issue? Can anyone point me in the correct direction to resolve this?

                  Thanks as always
