    IR4570 regarding printer

Hi, i have a machine IR4570. How do i know if it has a printer. Kindly see images i upload if something is missing and needed to be installed. Does it need a Fiery like the ones used in IRC3200? Thank you.

Ir you press the counter check button you will see a tab for device configuration this will tell you the installed options.
Not all 4570's come with print,.it is an option. It is a pcl boot rom that is needed

The service manual does not indicate a Fiery is available for this machine.

You should not have this screen.

      Photo-0026.jpg

      From my service manual

IMG-CONT Setting the EFI controller connection
      1 <Setting range>
      0: Usual operation [Default]

      Change the setting, service mode > copier > option> int face > img-cont to a 0

If you don't change img-cont back to default you may not be able to change network settings once you have the printer kit installed

I now change the img-cont to a 0. I can ping the ip address of the machine and installed the printer driver. When i try to make test page, the light for receiving data blinks for a while then gone, no paper print out. Kindly see my other attachment. Thanks.

You don't have pcl kit for machine. Try downloading UFR driver for machine and see how that goes.

              Hi,

Take Jarwil's suggestion of UFRII printer driver.

Your RUI problem is due to firmware not loaded properly. If you look in Service mode for Version, under item of RUI, it either 0 or a version lower than your Mn-Cont

                Re: IR4570 regarding printer

You have no print functionality on this machine, if you did it would be listed here,

                image (2).jpg

You would see PS, PCL, UFR

You need one of the following

UFR II print function ==> UFR II Printer Kit-E3 (P BootROM) iR System Expansion Kit-A1

UFR II/PCL print function ==> Printer Kit-E2 (H BootROM) iR System Expansion Kit-A1

                UFR II/PCL/PS print function ==> Multi-PDL Printer Kit-E1 (N BootROM) iR System Expansion Kit-A1

Buy one of these kits and you will be able to use the network and usb ports to print at the moment its just a copier.

The fact you can ping it is irrelevant the network port is there for firmware updates and the RUI only.

Thank you for all your reply . By the way,out of curiousity I did use the UFRII print driver like jarwil suggested though i was expecting that the machine will not print. Still no luck on network then i try installing it using USB Cable ...suddenly the printer works and the print test page came out of the machine. How is it possible that the machine print via USB?

If your machine's BootROM version is not as what skynet's explanation, then you might have stumble on a bug in the machine to be able to print.
