    Canon IR5000 Reset Problem

After going into service mode and clearing out all of the Department IDs, the screen to enter a department ID and password is still popping up (and there aren't any ID numbers). But now we are unable to hit the Additional Functions button (*) to get back into service mode, or to even just add new Department IDs, which is what we really want to do. Does anyone have any suggestions beyond turning on/off the machine?

you dont clear id's in service mode you do it addition funtions mode and you might have something admin mode .. also if memory service me right you have to go into additional function and system admin to turn off id mode...

Thanks. Someone else cleared out the old codes, but do you have any idea why I can no longer use the Additional Functions button and the only thing I can get is the screen where you put your Department ID and password? (We can't get past this because all the passwords have been reset.)

if you hit the addition function key and the only thing that come up is password ect you have something in admin mode to clear that hit *2 and 8 same time then *(* additional function) then go to copier> funtion> clear > password..then ok or call a tech..

Thanks to both of you for your replies.

We've figured out that the *28* works. The problem was, when we hit the Additional Functions button, we were expecting something to happen (like something lighting up or the screen changing). When this didn't happen, we assumed something was wrong.

Hopefully, this will help someone else who has this problem. The screen doesn't change and nothing lights up when you initially hit the Additional Functions (*) button. You an enter service mode only by doing the whole sequence of steps.
