    Canon C1 Imagepress

    Hello all,
I am new at servicing my Canon C1 Imagepress and need help removing the individual developer assemblies. I desperately need to change the starters. I have the C1 apart and am able to see the developer assemblies but have no clue on how to remove the individual assemblies. Please excuse my ignorance on this issue - i really could use some help. Thanks in advance!

best to find a trained tech on this model

you need someone to show u how to position the turret for removal of units/ u remove and do one at a time/
-- there is a weighted bar (balancing cylinders) that are used for turret balance during procedure---

in case u find assistance here is the dev change update notes/it does not explain removal of units
Developer Change on the imagePRESS C1.pdf
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

Thank you! I did just figure it out. I usually use a tech however they have been very lax and not caring about my equipment. I am pretty saavy on fixing things but the problem i found is the in each of the assemblies the screws are stripped. I got the black out and will work on that however the magenta cyan and yellow all have 1 screw is can't budge. I tried using a rubberband but that is not working. I think i will just go get a screw extractor. I do appreciate your time.

The part numbers for the Front and Rear Developer Cylinder Retainers are:
          Front: FL2-2691-000
          Rear: FL2-2693-000

          screws are included ,i believe

u can try to tighten a bit> then use a flat head that can fit head slot
or as u stated > a screw extractor
              http://www.wikihow.com/Remove-a-Stripped-Screw
              • Use a screw extractor like a normal screwdriver to remove the screw. Be sure to go slowly, and press down hard enough to prevent slippage and engage the burrowing threads.
              • If the screw extractor can't get a grip, you may need to drill a small hole into the screw head. You will need a drill bit that is designed for drilling metal; a wood-drilling bit won't survive. Be careful! If you drill too far, you will destroy the head entirely or make it fragile enough that it will snap off, making it even harder to get the screw out. Given the nature of what you are drilling, pieces of metal may suddenly come flying out of the assembly, so wear eye protection!
              • Also try using a small piece of steel wool or a piece of the green abrasive on kitchen cleaning sponges- press a small piece into screw head, insert screwdriver and turn.
              • The abrasive material will bite into the screw head, and give better grip for the screwdriver.
              • There is also a multi-spline type of screw extractor. The multi-spline extractor is like a hex nut with splines instead of threads on the inner bore. The multi-spline extractor fits over the head of the screw and over any projecting stud. The internal splines (teeth) engage the rounded head of the screw. Tap the extractor gently into place and turn it with a socket wrench. The multi-spline extractor is good for Torx and Allen head screws if the cylindrical body of the Allen screw is exposed. The multi-spline extractor is typically described as "Bolt extractor 5-piece set".
