    IRC 5870 Really strange happening.

Anyone can help this error coursed.

    1.M/C goes ready to copy
    2.1st copy coming out OK
3.2nd copy jammed after M/C running 2 minutes
4.After clear jamming 2nd copy paper and press start button M/C keeps running 2 minutes and shut down message comes out.

1.if change paper select for 2nd copy, then no jam
2.if press reset button befor pressing the start button for 2nd copy, then no jam
3.after 1 minute reset for 2nd copy, then no jam

    But sometimes jammed.

    Especially
If Legal size and letter R size change each times for copying, then no jam.

Printing from computer is always jammed.
Copying from document feeder is always jammed.

Have you Check all HV connection and connectors possible for leakage? If not check it and clean.

all the jamming area is just passed paper tray.

legal size paper is jammed paper tray and vertical area because paper is long 14 inchs, also same letter R size is jammed little bit in the paper tray and vertical area.

tray 2 : jamming paper is just passed tray2 around tray 1.

Try cleaning the transparency sensors. Can you give us the jam code?

I have seen the following cause random jams, especially on 11X17
              1 - Dirty transparency sensors,
2 - Flat spots on Fuser Roller, this can also give E014 error code and cause shut down,
3 - One Way Gear in external delivery section,
4 - Dirty or damaged sensor / reflector in ITB assy, ( there are 2 ) which can affect all sizes and also cause color displacement.

Run P-print...print all door specs....print network config..user data etc. Clear the ram(main,D-con,Reader)..re-install system software. Try this first..5800/6800 flakey machine. What are jam codes...any errors logged.I have had bad ram before on these machines. Re-seat all dimms, sram, sdram, boot rom

Often when a machine appears to lock up or keeps running then shuts down it can be caused by a short somewhere in the machine.

Given it is causing a jam and only happens under certain circumstances involving paper pickup/feed operations I would be checking all the wiring harnesses that goto the pickup assemblies and jam sensors.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

Check in error log for high voltage alarms or errors...If not RAM clear re-install newest system software. This takes 15 minutes..have cleared many jamming/flakey issues by doing this..this is first thing tech support will have you do
