    IRC-1028IF Service Mode

I have been instructed by canon that i need to setup ERDS on a Canon IRC-1028 but was just wondering the steps to do so?

I have never seen one of these machines before so any help would be great!

    Go to Service mode:
    1. Clear e-RDS Data
Go to Service mode: Press Main Menu, then press 2, then press 8, then press Main Menu again.
COPIER > Function > Clear > ERDS-DAT and press OK.

    2. Enable e-RDS Go to Service mode: Press Main Menu, then press 2, then press 8, then press Main Menu again.
COPIER > Function > INSTALL > E-RDS and enter "1" and press OK. This makes the communication function with UGW ON.

    3. Perform COM-TEST
Go to Service mode: Press Main Menu, then press 2, then press 8, then press Main Menu again.
COPIER > Function > INSTALL > COM-TEST and press OK. This performs the communication test with UGW. When a communication succeeds, OK is displayed. If NG is displayed, refer to the troubleshooting and continue testing until the communication test will be OK.

Thanks, after i set the ERDS to 1 i went to perform a coms-test but I'm getting a server connection error (getConfiguration). I can ping the machine and all the date and time settings are correct in the machine. What else could cause this issue?

        Hi,

Is the machines's DNS 1 & DNS 2 correctly fill up? (can match these with any PC within this network via "iconfig \all" command prompt)

Is there some kind of hardware firewall that restrict machine from access Internet? (will have to work Customer's IT if it is true)

Exactly.Usually DNS make trouble with E-RDS.Try to get IP with DHCP.
