    ImagePress Server Q1

I just got an Used Server Q1... I was able to connect it to the machine and my computer and the computer detects the ImagrePress C1... Everything seems normal when I install the copier and the driver that I downloaded from Canon. But when I print a test page nothing happens... I was able to print the Server's Configuration Page from copier... but I am still not able to print from Computer... It seems like the computer sends the print to the Server but the server doesn't transmit the page to the Copier... I need help. Do you think that the driver is wrong? do I need to install something special for the Server Q1? I have windows 7 64bit.

    Thanks a lot!

I got it to print... What I did was that I reinstalled the printer using the Server's Q1 driver instead of the ImagePress C1's Driver... But now the quality is bad... is that the correct the driver?

      imagePress Q1 = no driver support for win7 32 or 64bit

      imagePRESS Server Q2 v2.0 is supported/

Upgrading from imagePRESS Server Q1 to imagePRESS Server Q2

By installing the imagePRESS Server Q2 V2 system software, the imagePRESS Server Q1 Ver.1.1
can be upgraded to imagePRESS Server Q2 V2. This is a software upgrade only.

The software and printer differences are displayed as shown below in the Configuration Page

imagePRESS Server Q1 Ver.1.x: EFI Fiery System 8
imagePRESS Server Q2 V2: EFI Fiery System 8 Release 2
imagePRESS Server Q1 Ver.1.x: Canon imagePRESS Server Q1
imagePRESS Server Q2 V2: Canon imagePRESS Server Q2-2
When upgrading from imagePRESS Server Q1 to imagePRESS Server Q2 V2, it is also required to upgrade
the engine to the latest firmware version available.

      imagePRESS C1 (CUFxxxxx)SER#
imagePRESS C1 (Version 51.01 & later) needed to support an upgrade to Q2

call a Canon Authorized dealer to have a tech do the upgrade-----

Teckat's suggestion is good as it would open a few features within that Q1 hardware, but i assume charges would be applicable

Else you could tried this link without the upgrade but might not be 100% suitable for your printing colour needs

The thing is that I am in Nicaragua... there is no canon support here for this kind of equipment... and if there was it would be way too expensive... is there a way I could do the upgrade myself?

As far as the poor quality goes you should Calibrate the server....

                  File Name:Q1v1.1_PS_Vista_Print.exe

imagePRESS Server v1.1 Postscript Printer Driver v1.1 for Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit OS (Non-WHQL Certified). This driver adds support for Windows Vista 32-bit OS and Windows Vista 64-bit OS.

That is the description of the file that I am using.... I downloaded it from the canon web page.... it seems to work fine... but I will try to upgrade it to Q2... today I printed some pictures for a customer and it was fine since I tried doing the calibration as someone said above...
