RAM requirement to upgrade imagepass H1 to v2.0?

    RAM requirement to upgrade imagepass H1 to v2.0?

    I recently asked that our imagepass H1 be upgraded to v2.0 from v1.2. They've upgraded the copier's (ir C4080) software and as it was described to me, "several of the software components of the H1". However our H1 only has 256mb of RAM so I was told that the System component could not be upgraded.

    Does this sound correct or do they just not (who knows why) want to put 2.0 on there?

      believe 256mb is a option on H1 V2.0

      did they update to System Software v93.01.02 V3 on your iRC4080

          By "components" I meant software components, sorry for the mixup there. They said items like BootROM and Finisher were updated on the machine itself, but that our H1 would not accept the actual System Software 2.0 due to the low ram.

          Here is what I have from the config printout:
          Device Boot ROM Version: 51.01
          Device System Version: 66.05
          ...
          Device Function Version: 01.0
          Printer Version: 54.01
          Scanner Version: 02.02
          Finisher Version: 08.01
          Feeder Version: 01.00

          Under the Server Info section, the Software is 'EFI Fiery System 8e' and the Version is '1.02'.

          My actual question is just whether I'm being fed BS.


          Edit: We were trying to do this for better/newer driver support, and we're starting to wonder if they'd prefer to give us that with a whole new machine.

              BS is also another way to put it for being ignorance. It a true fact that they did upgrade firmware of the machine but it is not the so-called V3 firmware as given by Teckat.

              You could compare the before upgrade and after. Your H1 can be upgrade from the current Version 1.02 to Version 2. RAM-wise, actually the default will still work. Adding 1 more stick of RAM is to boost the printing/ripping process within the H1

                  u are receiving a big BS Story/ firmware is old/boot ver is old/ don't need to worry about Finisher ver./I have never updated a Finisher on this series

                      Yes I read it, just wanted to clarify my OP so I could get the Certificate of BS (as imho, if it was ignorance, the ignoring of it is like a select grade of BS).

                          Actually, if anyone has a recommendation for a competent tech or shop in Dallas who might be willing to update our 4080 and H1 to the latest software versions on an a la carte basis, I'd love to hear it. We have a guy keeps the moving parts in check but he doesn't want to do this, and as noted in this thread his recommendation didn't turn out so well. Thanks, Mark
