Our non-profit organization has received a donation of a C5185i copier. We need to have it installed and set up for the first time. Without any kind of service contract, what could we expect to pay for a technician to set up the machine and get it running here for the first time? Just looking for a ballpark estimate for budgeting purposes.

are u going to Network the printer with a Fiery or Print Kit--
without a contract>usually this printer will require an inspection before set-up (RECOMMENDED)
Reason is because;
this printer needs to have the Heater Unit inspected(expensive to replace=1,000.00) as with other parts (DRUMS, ITB UNIT, ROLLERS, DFeeder, & a all over CQ inspection--
u don't want to pay for just an plug in & quick test install > only to have the tech find issues afterward--
East Cost Service call charge on a non-contract Canon Color 5185i inspection/install= 225.00>275.00 per hour>>>depends on the company & your area location (if u are in a walking territory or a car territory.
u may find a Company that will help out non-profit company's/ doesn't hurt to ask them**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.** -

[QUOTE=teckat;313978]did u receive a Finisher/Sorter & or Paper Deck ?

Yes, we received a finisher/sorter and paper deck as well. We would like to network the copier -
Do you think it would take an entire day to set it up entirely - so perhaps eight hours of technician time is realistic?Comment

Note:
have tech check & clean>dump out waste bottle>(
it should not take more than 3 hrs./ the 5185i has UFRII/PCL Printer Kit installed as Standard item/ a PS KIT will be an option if wanted-
