canon ir 2016 paper jam

canon ir 2016 is displaying "paper jam open the left cover " but there is no paper hanging or hooking up anywhere in the machine. pls help solving this problem

remove fuser assembly, there should be some paper in assy.

xcopytech is right, try remove the fuser unit and check for any piece or scrap of paper between the rollers and inside the unit. Sometimes the paper gets rolled up with the rollers making it hard to see the paper jam.

I thing you have not scrapped paper in fixing unit.You have dirty
pickup roller in paper casette.Machine can not take up paper and it
result it as misfeed, because paper do not go to sensor in right timing.
It is why you can not find paper in machine.
Or can be wrong some sensor or stagnacy lever.

remove the cover on left hand sid you can then see if there is any paper in the fixing assembly a dirty pick up roller will n ot cause this fault

there will be paper blocking the fixing assembly exit sensor

you may be aBLE TO GET THE PAPER OUT WITHOUT REMOVING THE FUSING ASSEMBLY ALTHOUGH ITS EASY ENOUGH TO REMOVE
