Has FTP Printing already been enabled and configured in the device.
FTP Printing to a Fiery controller supports PDF and TIF file types only.
FTP Printing to a Canon controller supports PDF and JPG file types only. Although the FTP utility successfully transfers any file type to the device, either the device will throw out an error code or the garbage will be printed out.
AS FAR AS THE COPIER IS CONCERNED, PASV MODE IS ONLY USED FOR SCANNING TO AN FTP DESTINATION. PASV MODE DOES NOT APPLY TO FTP PRINTING.

Activate the printers internal FTP server--
On All imageRUNNER-iR Series and All Color Enabled imageRUNNER Models the FTP printer server is activated by:
1. Press the Additional Functions button
2. Select System Settings.
3. Select Network Settings.
4. Select TCP/IP Settings.
5. Select FTP Print Settings.
6. Turn FTP printing On, and enter the user name and password you will be using for authentication. Then press OK.
7. Select Use PASV Mode for FTP.
8. Turn on the Use PASV Mode for FTP option. Then press ok and restart the printer.
