    Ir105 WITH E540 CODES

I have a machine that runs large jobs over night, when they come in in the morning error code e540-01rm1 is displayed. This sub code is not in my book. Anyone know what this sub code means or better yet how to stop it from coming up. All comments appreciated.

That is a finisher code for the A tray. You may have a flakey area sensor. The A tray is not moving correctly.

Remove the staple remover from the tray height sensor before it burns out your fuse PCB .

I knew what the 540 meant, I was wondering about the 01rm1.(that is what the customer is seeing. They find a large stack (2000+) on tray B and tray A is empty. Code in memory is e540-001. seems to work fine for me. Wondered about the rm1 portion of the detail code. I have changed the clock sensor for Tray A.

I replaced the whole tray A today, seemed to work fine before I changed it. Tray B was full and machine moved tray A down every time a new print job came in. Only strange thing I noticed , was large capacity deck was not empty and machine used paper from right and left decks.(code indicates a 2 for paper source every time = left deck) Did not see any staple remover, happens every night?

Not the same time exactly, an hour or 2 apart, not sure why large capacity deck not empty before switching to decks 1 & 2. Have customer leaving paper out of deck 2 to see if problem is the same.

                e540

Check the toothed rails for wear and alignment. Seen both cause this.

Do a staple job of 101 sets of two . When tray B hits 100 stapled sets it will lower for tray A . See if it codes out then.

Looking at manual now ... only subcode 0001 > 0004 .. are you sure scode is right .. Codes 1+2 refer to movement of trayA .. 3 is Safety Switch and 4 is a time out on trayA lift Motor ... Best of luck with this one..

The Fn is a K1/2 . Is a reconditioned unit so not sure of mileage . Rails are metal and gears are plastic, could not see problem with teeth on rails, will have to take harder look at alignment next time I'm in. Watched it for half hour last time I was there and left Tray B full, every time job printed trays went up and down no code?
