    ir6000

Hey guys, have an ir6000. Kept saying reset unit 1. Found the frame side plug/connector for unit one was broken on both sides. Gonna find pn and order one, but looking for tips one replacing. I have removed the boards/duct and then removed connector. Looks like the middle plug just plugs in but there are 4 wires on the corners. How do i pull them out and install in the new one???? Anyone faced this?

    Thanks!!!

The man says use a pin extractor.

          If you can't find one
Here is what I saw one of my guys do
He unplugged the dc wires (easy)
broke the old connector plastic ends (carefully) where the AC wires are located, with a pair of pliers
one at a time, inserting them into the correct spot.

pull on each pin to make sure it stays in.
If it comes loose, raise the "leaf spring thingy" in the middle higher.

I didn't realize those were AC lines. are you talking about the 4 wires on the corners? hadn't looked at the schematic yet

I did this on a 600 once. The connector is the same. If I remember each of those 4 wires has a little brass tab that you press and the wire pops right out. I used a small flat head. I know the frame side part number is VS1-6328-040 because I may have to replace one due to constant E001 codes that nothing else has repaired. The 040 is important because it determines pin number for this part thus a 40 pin connector.

Alright, still waiting on the connector to come in. Talked to customer today and they told me the machine stopped working again the other day. Shows code e0000061-0001. Bad laser? Or has the connector broken again. Would I get that code????
This is a school and they only have two copiers total (but thats their fault)

can be caused by the laser assembly not obtaining its proper intensity.
                        how old is Drum ???

also check MSW2 (loose or miss-adjusted)>switch

                        e061
Disable potential control by going into service mode Copier > Option > Tempo > F-POT-SW. Now copies can be run.
                        1) A solid black copy means laser is defective.
                        2) A white copy means you should check the Primary corona and HVT.
                        3) A good copy means you should check the Potential sensor PCB.

                          great info, thanks!!

just odd timing that I had it really disassembled to get to that unit 1 connector. thought maybe I did something (and maybe I did), but didn't touch the laser assembly or hvt.

                          which is MSW2??

Is the laser shutter mechanism normal?

                              I found it.......manual feed door open/close switch.

I will check it. does it just get out of adjustment? It will probably be a few days before I get back there, so I will research....

                              thanks!
