[Misc] New Fixing Unit Canon IR2800

I just installed a fixing unit on a Canon ImageRunner 2800. When it starts up it says there is a jam in the fixing unit area. I look and there is no paper or remneants of paper anywhere. So i remove the fixing unit and reinstall still same code. I eventually got the machine to power up and make some copies. I ran 30 pages with no problems. Got another call the next day with the same issue. Found out that they run duplex copies when this occurs. I tried to duplicate it which it did happen with the paper jammed at the input area on the right side. i remove the paper and get it going again same problem on duplexing, so I thought the rollers in the trays where bad(really slick) so I changed those, still the same problem. They tell me this is the first week they really has used the duplex on this machine. So I tell them to not use the duplex until I can figure out this problem. Get another call today saying that it jams on regular copies now. So i go look at it and sure enough it jams going into the fuser and coming out of the trays. The paper folds itself into the fixing unit, not really accordian like other printers. Any ideas. Sounds like a faulty fixing unit. Also get code A021 and 0121 mostly.

      Ewarren,
0A21 and 0121 both refer to the duplex entrance sensor. That would be right under the fuser section.
Sometimes these flags don't go back as fast as they should or may be the sensor is dirty

oA= pwr on jam. As if paper jam was left in the machine when turned on.
01=delay jam. Like the paper stalled under this sensor, but this sensor stayed on to long.
You may want to check the paper size settings in the trays first. It is common for these to get
      changed by accident.

Thanks Desert Rat for your reply. I repaired this printer on Thurs and was going to post the fix today(Mon). I actually had two problems. One was the paper delivery guide and the other was the duplex entry sensor, the paper delivery guide had broken clips on the back so it wouldn't stay on correctly and the sensor spring come apart from the flag so it wouldn't snap back into the correct position to not indicate a start up jam. i finally saw that and fixed it and now I have a fully functional machine again. It started out as a straight forward repair, then turned in to a big headache,to a pleasure to work on because of the lesson it taught me about not checking for the little things. Thanks alot again.
