Canon iR C3200 Output Missing Yellow

The color output of my Canon iR C3200 is not correct. The test page is missing blocks of color. It looks to me like yellow is not being printed. All the drums are new. Any ideas?

    Thank You.

pull out the ITB> remove ITB Sheet> check to see if the Yellow Primary Transfer roller is in place/level at both ends(roller snaps in black plastic coupling >check for crack or missing spring tension)

In previous machines the error code E100 would be displayed if laser output was lost.
In the iR C3200 it will not give a code for laser failure the only indication will be that the image information for that color will not be printed.

    Other Checks/Ideas below

Replace the laser for the color (or swap to test) that is not printed. Other areas that could cause a similar problem are the developer bias or the primary transfer roller and or the HVT for these items that support the color that is missing.

if u receive no error codes/ see below

You can confirm the yellow developer assembly is not driving by putting a drop of white out on the Developer coupling. The developer coupling is located on the rear of the drum unit. Remove the drum unit and mark the developer coupling. Make a copy and see if the coupling has moved. If the coupling has not moved it is due to the DC Controller not giving the drive command.

    defective DC Controller.

if it moves> check yellow developer drive motor

    have u tried to print a PG10

I can see some yellow in that test print?

Have you first tried a full auto gradation?

& are you using genuine Canon Drum units & toner?

They are new, out of the box drum units. One of them was sitting in the supply closet for maybe three months but it was unopened until recently. The toner and drum units are all genuine Canon parts.

I tried a full adjust but am unable to complete it because it's not recognizing the test pattern. I've attached the full adjust output and the output of PG 10. I will try teckat's suggestions.

Thank you all for your help so far.

those repeated yellow wave patterns look like a Yellow Primary Transfer issue/ a Yellow Drum/Dev./ Bias problem/or a poor Yellow Drum Ground contact--

for Contact position> see pic--of door grounding pin on the machine frame---flip open/down the front Drum units door---to see pin position

              Hello,

If any of the drums is not turning, the corresponding color will be missing. I advice you to print an A3 with your test and open the door during printing, open and verify the yellow drum surface. There might be a bad contact between the drum and its driving system (machine side).

              Good luck.

I checked and cleaned the contacts (the grounding pin on the machine frame and the mechanism the drum attaches to). The output has improved slightly. More yellow is being printed but still with the wave pattern. Could the yellow drum itself be bad?

                Thanks for all your help.

It seems the problem was the yellow drum. I still had the one I was replacing, so I tried that one and all the problems are gone.

                  Thanks for all your help.
