Canon IR 6000 ADF scanner dark along one side.

When copying from the ADF the copies come out with a dark shadow across the bottom inch of the 8 1/2" side of the sheet. If I lighten the exposure it goes away. This does not occur when copying from the glass.
I suspect the scanner lamp but I'm not sure. Can anyone shine a light on what's going on here and how to remedy?
    Thanks,
    Dana Lewis

    Hello,

As a first step, clean the different reading parts (reflectors, lamp, reading glass).

try adjusting adf height, sounds like you have light leaking in on either front or back, hope this helps.

I had this problem a couple of years ago. I think it had to do with a setting for the doc feeder. Shading I think.
Is the image registered on the page correctly?
You could try a D-Con clear. Just be sure an print out the adjustments. I usually check the door specs against the machine
before I clear anything. You will have to re-input the settings under adjustments.
I will have to check a couple of boards where I post.
