Canon PC740

Hello,

I use a Canon PC740 copier in our company. It stopped working... The lamp has been replaced recently, and it was maintained properly. When pressing the copy button the paper jam error lights up just after the lamp turns on. There is no error message. Did anyone have or hear about this problem before?

This is an old machine and not worth a service call. Have a nice day.

It is old, but it has advantages. Like 'no warming up' and possibility to copy paper, larger than A4.

Check the entire paper path for any tiny scrap of paper. Is the paper leaving the tray at all? Try the bypass tray. Sorry about my cynical reply, just tire of old analog copiers and throwaways. Good luck.

Hi I agree with Ikrs.. If Jam occurs Immediately check For scrap of paper at pick up reg roller (under and right of cartridge) and at exit .. Pulling a Jammed piece of paper out against the flow can rip a tiny piece off on a sensor and jam it open .. Goor Luck

Yes, a bad scan lamp will cause a registration jam.

Have you tried cleaning the feed wheels with rubber cleaner/rejuvenator? I have one in the shop now that was jamming every time the copy button was pressed. Just needed a good cleaning.
