Re: Canon ImageRunner C3100N
This is a drum drive error.
Put the old drum back in, power the machine off/on see if the error clears, if it does check your new drum turns OK by hand.
If you still get the E012 error with the new drum you will need a new drum drive motor.

Re: Canon ImageRunner C3100N
do you have any other error codes listed in the error history on the device?
Also is the machine at a "ready" state when you are trying to execute the drum clear? If it is not at the ready to copy state then the drum reset will not work correctly.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment

Re: Canon ImageRunner C3100N
Drum motor Error. The motor is not turning at a constant speed. Take out the drum you fiited. Turn it by hand. If it is difficult to turn put some drum powder (or waste toner) on it. Put back and try again.
Good luck !!!sigpic

Re: Canon ImageRunner C3100N
Wait until the machine is ready and then go into service mode COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR > DRM-LIFE, highlight it and press "OK".**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon ImageRunner C3100N
was e012 received after u replaced DRUM ?/ did u do a Part check on Drum Mtr. ??
won't a e012 prevent DRUM motor from turning during procedure COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR > DRM-LIFE
While the operation is under way, the item will flash; and, the operation ends in about 1 min.
Note__ ITB lock up could also cause e012/use same motor drive**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
