flash the copier using the Content Delivery System (CDS) in the printer/
Update the imageRUNNER ADVANCE System Software in Service Mode/
Go into service mode level 1 by pressing the Settings / Registration button, then 2 & 8 at the same time, then the Settings / Registration Button again. Press the Updater button.
If Updater does not appear on this screen, make sure to activate eRDS.
Ensure proper IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS settings before attempting to enable eRDS.
Select Mode List > Copier > Function > Install. Set eRDS to 1, then press OK. Select COM-TEST and select OK. Communication with the UGW server is necessary for Updater to work.
This will not be available until COM-TEST result is OK!.
Select Mode List > Copier > Option > FNC-SW: Set CDS-FIRM to 1 and Set CDS-UGW to 1.
Press the Update Firmware button.
Press Confirm Applicable Firmware button.
Wait until the CDSUpdater screen appears again.
Press the Applicable Firmware down arrow.
Select the firmware version.
Press Next./
Press OK to start download of system software./Press Accept to continue.
Wait until the status bar pops up and the Downloaded Completed screen appears then press OK.
Press Apply Firmware./Press Yes to continue-
The printer will restart itself when the upgrade is completed.
Special note:
If the following message' Operations are already being performed by another user. Wait a moment ' appears at any point during the System Software Upgrade, shut down then restart the printer and try the upgrade again.

Content Delivery System
Three Methods of using the CDS to Update Firmware Defined.
Method 1:
The technician is onsite, enters service mode on the copier, selects the updater and has the machine attach to the CDS where the firmware is brought to the machine and the technician may select a version to apply and manually install the firmware.
Method 2 :
The Dealer uses imageWARE Remote to connect to the device and schedule a time where the device will connect to the CDS to obtain Firmware. The Firmware will reside on the device until such time as a service technician visits the device and manually applies the Firmware.
Method 3:
The Dealer uses imageWARE Remote to connect to the device and schedule a time where the device will connect with CDS, obtain the firmware and apply it automatically without any intervention of a technician.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
