I'm a SysAdmin that recently replaced someone that left the company. We have an ImagePressC1 that has an IP already set which I would like to change (moving to a different VLAN/Subnet). I don't have a ton of experience with Canon copiers, but I've used a Fiery before and in my past experience this would be done by:
Go to http://IP-Address
Go to Configuration (tab)
Click 'Launch Configure'
A Java applet would launch and you would configure it there after putting in the credentials.
My problem is... I can't get to the Java applet. I see the Java symbol load/spin, then it prompts me for credentials. I put in the default F.....1 password (I've read it's taboo to post this publicly), and the background just turns grey. At first one would think that this means I have the wrong password. I was able to confirm with the person who was here previously that he left it as the default. However, I've also had issues with the Java applet in the past with other Fiery machines.
So my questions are:
1. Am I going about changing the IP correctly?
2. Is there a trick for getting the Java applet to load?
3. If I am doing the above correctly, perhaps I have the wrong password. Is there a way to reset it? (note: currently no one uses the copier for anything other than... copying. No one prints or scans to/from it)
Thanks, in advance, for your help.
