Re: docsend
Perhaps "Docsend" means something different in the Canada than in the US.
In the US, it is a PC and stand with a touchscreen monitor; it connects to the copier just using the network connection (plain old TCP/ IP), and uses the machine as a TWAIN scanner.
Just a matter of unplugging it.
Sounds like your Docsend is something totally different. If so, I can't help. Sorry.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment

Re: docsend
do u have just the LCD & STAND ??/ or do u have the IKON DocSend SERVER connected also---
if so u can sell both for money
is this what u mean--IKON DocSend
The DocSend units are free-standing stations.
Each DocSend is associated with a Canon copier. Using a touch-screen interface, staff members can scan paper documents and send them as pdf files to e-mail addresses, fax machines, a USB stick, or directly to the Publication Center via the Digital Print Center.
is this what u mean-
IKON DocSend is priced at $6,995 which includes a connector for Westbrook Fortis and universal adapter for Canon and Ricoh engines.

Re: docsend
As Teckat has asked several times now, what model Canon is this?
The IKON Docsend does not disable any built in scanning on the copier - it simply is a network attached scanning PC that uses the TWAIN interface. Nor is there a physical connection between it and the machine; they simply both plug into the network. (Although some of the VERY early Docsends attached to the copier with double stick tape, but those are quite ancient.)
The Canon will need to have Universal Send in order to be a push scanner. It may have it already, or possibly it could be purchased, depending on the model.
Assuming that the machine was originially purchased with the Docsend unit, I highly doubt that the machine would have Universal Send, as there would be no need to have it and the Docsend, but you never know.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. Re: docsend
IF your machine has Universal Send, you will have a button on the screen that says "Send", and depending if you have fax or not, the same button would get you to fax or Universal send.
The "Scan" button allows you to use the machines as a TWAIN scanner, and you would need an application like Acrobat (NOT Reader), Irfanview, or the like to scan with.
Universal Send is a "push" scan, where TWAIN is "pull" scan.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment
