Have a problem stapling only on 81/2x11" all other sizes staple fine, staples the 1st set but doesnt kick it out into the tray the 2nd sets 1st page then is misaligned all other pages after that line up fine , bus every set after the 1st set is mis stapled. it seems it isnt kicking the stapled set out before it starts the next set, all firmware is up to date all rollers are new, like i said only on81/2 x11, 11r legal and ledger staple fine...any thoughts?

perform the Alignment Plate adjustment

SERVICING PROCEDURE
Perform the following steps to reduce the friction force of the return roller.

1. Turn OFF the main power.
   
   Finisher Controller PCB
2. Remove the rear cover and turn ON bit numbers 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8 ON DIP SW 104 on the Finisher Controller PCB .
   
   Paper Delivery Section
   
3. Lift the swing guide with your hand and insert five sheets of plain paper into the processing tray .
4. Turn On the main power and press SW103 on the Finisher Controller PCB to start the rotation of the return roller. The swing guide goes up and the return roller rotates in the pull-in direction causing wear to the return roller.
5. After 20 to 30 seconds press SW103 again to stop the operation.
6. Turn OFF the main power and turn OFF all the SW 104 switches.
7. Check the operation of the equipment.

* NOTE: Do not touch or clean the surface of the return roller.


Check Buffer stopper sheet, shown below in figure Q11 if worn or deformed will effect stacking as well as stapling.Order two of item 35. The part number is FC5-4704-000.

Thanks tekat, but one question it say do adj. for 20-30 minutes ? is it seconds?

Try cleaning or replacing electromagnetic clutch CL101 if it is slow returning can cause the swing unit late to drop.
