[Error Code] Canon IR2022i Error NG #0753

This errors occurs at random times, it is scan to folder using SMB utilising an ||192.168.9.250 IP address File Path \scans , folder is fully open
NG # 0753 which from the manual is :at time of ECM transmission, the procedural signal has been transmitted more than specified after transmission of PPS-NULL
    or T5 time-out (60 sec) has occurred.

The machine just stops scanning, then at a random point later (upto 2 hours) just starts again without any changes being made. I found this info below and can confirm all but the cable is OK. (The cable is extra long and a replacement is currently unavailable) Machine prints OK without problem.

    - Check that the network cable is properly connected between the machine and your computer.
    - Check that <USE SMB CLIENT> is set to <ON>.
    - Check that <SERVER> of the file server destination is set correctly.
    - Check that <WORKGROUP> is set correctly.
    - Check that <LM ANNOUNCE> is set to <ON>.
    - Check that the Windows Firewall is set properly.
    - If the machine still does not operate normally, turn OFF the main
power switch of the machine, wait for at least 10 seconds, and then turn it ON
    again.

    Any thoughts/fixes would be appreciated

    what is your firmware ver.?

When you enable SMB did you fill in the server and printer boxes
    try turning on SMB printing
    or
set-up FTP scanning instead of SMB.

create a user account on the destination PC using a specified username AND PASSWORD. then share it to that user for read/write. does it still fail? can you use the browse option to access the folder when you set it as a new destination manually?

        SOLUTION

Randomly when the scanner is being used (and of course there are a certain number of users logged in) there is an error in the Server Application log as follows:

        Event Type: Error
        Event Source: LicenseService
        Event Category: None
        Event ID: 201
        Date: 04/12/2012
        Time: 09:59:06
        User: N/A
        Computer: SERVER
        Description:

No license was available for user THRESHOLD\SCANS using product FilePrint . Use Licensing from the Administrative Tools folder to ensure that you have sufficient licenses.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at Events and Errors Message Center: Basic Search.

Of course the confusing thing was how the problem seemed intermittent but this was dependant on the number of users logged in at that particular time....

Thanks for all those who tried to help ;-)

          Hi,

The system hosting shared folder, if I assume, ought to be win2003 Server OS or higher. That rule out quota of login users being limited.

During the scan issue , printing is still working, that rule out an IP conflict.

As Win2003 Sevrer & higher, has elevated their security login credential method. You might want to check if a firmware upgrade would solve it. Best do a backup of machine settings before doing that.

Or you could opt to use FTP method as suggest by Teckat.

Are there any terminal services involved in this environment?
