    [Misc] paper indication

    We are facing the following problem with Canon Ir2520

    Status of the machine:

    Machine had error E246, replaced main controller board

    Problem after replacement:

    1. With paper cassette at the startup if we have paper in the tray, the display indicates
    paper present in the cassette. but the moment we remove the tray the display changes to load
    paper. But then when we insert the tray again the display does not again change to paper
    present. It frezees to load paper. Also say for example we have 2 copy paper in the tray and
    we give a copy of more then 2 copies the machine stops after making 2 copies and prompts load
    paper. but even after loading the paper this indication does not change. We have to switch
    Off-then ON the machine.

    In service mode we have checked the working of this sensor. it shows paper initially, after
    removing the tray it shows no paper and then it freezes to that status


    2. With manual paper tray if there is no paper while startup the display indicates no paper.
    when we place a paper on the tray it prompts for paper selection , but then if you remove the
    paper again the display does not change. it always show that the paper is present.Also if we
    give a copy command the machine execute paper lifting eventually giving paper jam.

    Pl guide us to solve the above problem

      Did u Enter all values recorded on the service label affixed to the rear cover.


      Main Controller PCB
      Action to Take after Replacement
      After replacing the image processor PCB with a new one, take the following action:
      - Download the latest firmware with the UST.
      - Enter all values recorded on the service label affixed to the rear cover.
      **Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

          Did you find a resolution to this problem? I am going to a 2520 tomorrow with a similar fault and am trying to get ideas!!
