canon ir3300 paper at tray 2 not detected

Hi,

Any idea why canon IR3300 tray 2 not detect paper? When I put the paper, the tray lift the paper. However, the machine still showed there are no paper at this tray.

help please...

The lifter cam usually breaks, also check there are no small pieces of paper trapped behind the cassette, use a torch, only needs to be a small piece to cause load paper.

check the battery and tracks near the battery on the dc controller pcb,, it may be damaged due to battery leakage....

There is a gear that breaks (or cracks). I was told it was really difficult to replace so work let me replace the entire feed assembly with a known good one. Usually it will detect paper if the tray is full but not when it gets lower. I don't know which gear or have a part number. The entire feed assembly is not that difficult to take out. I think it has to be out to replace the gear(s).

Sector gear is broken. 100% guaranteed. It's in the paper pickup assembly. I believe teckat has the instructions for how to change that one. We've got so many used 2200's that we just swap the ppu assy and chuck the old one.

One of the hardest things I've had to work on and it's not that hard. Just this gear is spring loaded against these two cams, etc... It's doable it just sucks

The bottom one is easy, try doing the top one.
