Scan to email on Canon IR1022i

    Hi

I just had to reload the BOOT ROM and SYSTEM firmware on a Canon IR1022i but was not aware they had scan to email setup.

Ive never had to set this up and was hoping someone could forward setup instructions?

    Thank!!

Did SST indicate an Error (in pink) as you were loading F/W?
Boot Rom Version has not changed V61.01 however the latest System & PCL Version is 82.01 - you must update PCL after System (even if the unit does not have it), did you notice if ERDS had disappeared also? if so all the previous info (including Address Book) will return when the Unit is Updated correctly.

      Thanks Canonbuddy!

I only updated the two (BOOT and SYSTEM) and believe the system version I have is 68.01. . . .

      I never updated the PCL. . . .

Not sure what ERDS is either?

Do you think it is because I didn't reload PCL?

Just to add that after speaking with the customer again, they say on the web browser into the IP address of the machine, the area where they usually put in an email address is no longer present. . . . .

Do I need to reload PCL firmware after BOOT and SYSTEM?

        Thanks

Yep - update PCL, click on the + sign and select the version with 'OP' - as long as the PCL Version is the same as the System Version (Boot Rom Version will be different) then all settings which were in the Unit prior to upgrade will be restored.

You may need to Download the latest version which is 82.01.

ERDS is an Electronic Maintenance Remote Device Server and is called UGW (Universal Gateway Server) based in Japan, which basically monitors any Canon Device (if registered) thoughout the Globe - Counters or Jams & Errors (if same Error/Jam occurs more than 6 times) will bounce back to the Dealer without Client knowing - pain in the bum if you went for the same problem the day before.
