    Canon irc-3080 e-542-8002 code

Have a Canon IRC-3080 with the 2-tray finisher that is showing a E-540-8002 code. Do not have a service manual on this unit. Thanks for any and all help.

most likely a broken sensor flag

    Finisher-Z1-has two
    E540 8002/8003
    -
The stack tray shift motor (M7) is faulty.
The stack tray upper paper surface sensor (SR9) is faulty.
The stack tray lower paper surface sensor (SR10) is faulty.
The stack tray lower limit sensor (SR14) is faulty.
The stack tray upper limit sensor (SR13) is faulty.

The search for the surface of paper on the stack tray does not end within 1.0 sec.
check if your flags are broken

    Finisher-Y1

    E540 8001/8002/8003
Tray 1 shift motor(M107)/Tray 1 shift area sensor PCB
8001=If the tray does not return to home position when the tray 1 shift motor is driven for 20 seconds.
8002=If the tray does not move to other area when tray 1 shift motor is driven for 4 seconds.
8003=When tray 1 switch is activated while tray 1 is operating.

check if your flags are broken

Thanks for the info Teckat. Is it possible to run the copier without the finisher attached? Thanks again for the help.
