    Dificulties downgrading from fg3 2730 to fg3 2730

    Hi,

I have enherit a company which owns a irc 3200 copier and the company's associate has taken a C1 fiery board from it.

I can't argue with him about it so now I have a copier with a fg3 2730 board on it and without a C1. I've tried to print it from network but i can't configure the ip address because this option simple doesn't appear on the menu.
I've been told that a downgrade to a fg3 2729 print board would do the trick even thought the results wouldn't be the same.

    So, I've replaced the FG3 2730 with a FG3 2729.

I still can't configure the network!

The problem is that i just can't find any tutorial in how to downgrade back to a fg3 2729 and here in Brazil I just can't find a competent technician to help me out.

I'd really like to put it back to work on the network.

Can someone help me configure this board (FG3 2729) or the old ones (FG3 2730) so I can print it from the network back again??

    I'd really appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad english - after all, i'm still a brazillian!

    Re: Dificulties downgrading from fg3 2730 to fg3 2730

    the Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1 uses a UFR PCB = FG3-2729-000
which is shipped with a "N" Boot Rom

    the imagePass C1 Fiery ships with/ & uses a I/F PCB(Open Interface Board)=FG3-2730-000
it needs the "C" Boot Rom which ships with the printer originally

both pcb's use the same slot in printer/ u can only have one configuration used--

    since u had a C1 connected> u probably have the "C" Boot Rom inserted-

    there is no downgrade procedure
u said they took the CI BOARD ??? Guess U mean they took the C1 BOX off the back ?
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1- Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1 uses a UFR PCB = FG3-2729-000>>> do u have the "N" BOOT ROM ??
this "N" Boot Rom can not be purchased alone/ where did u get this UFR Pcb ??

    2- if u don't have the C1 Fiery BOX>
the I/F PCB(Open Interface Board)=FG3-2730-000 is now usless
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

do u know how to print out a P-PRINT ? it will tell u what type of BOOT Rom is installed----

    anyway >for a Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1 set up>
go in service mode--COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE>IMG-CONT and set it to "0"
power off/on printer---now on the Control Panel, press Additional Functions- System Settings- Network Settings---here u can set up your Network-
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if u ever get a C1 Fiery Box again> here is set up>>>

    Enter Service mode (Additional Functions > 2 & 8 > Additional Functions).
    Select Copier > Option > INT-FACE > IMG-CONT.
Make sure setting is set to "0" and press OK.
    Power Cycle off the imageRUNNER.
3-Before Making any Fiery Connections /
    4-Power Cycle on the imageRUNNER.
    5-Re-Enter Service mode (Additional Functions > 2 & 8 > Additional Functions).
    Select Copier > Option > INT-FACE > IMG-CONT.
Change back this setting from "0" to "3" and press OK./now exit from the Service Mode
6-Now> Turn off the control panel power switch./then Turn off the main power switch.

7-Disconnect the Printer power cable (from the wall/floor outlet).
8-Next> connect the I/F cable from Fiery to Printer side-
9-Connect the Cross-Over cable from Fiery to Printer
10-Connect Network cable from Fiery to wall Network connection
11-Connect the Fiery Power Cable to wall outlet-
12-Plug in 3220 Printer power cable to wall outlet
    13-Now Power up 3200 Printer
14-When Progress bar is 3/4 way> flip power switch on Fiery( if present) later ver's eliminated this switch
-Follow any OFF/ON prompts if shown on LCD Control panel

At the Control Panel, press [Printer] tab. Press [Printer Status/Settings].
At Password prompt-use Fiery.1 then continue with your set up

      BOOT ROM POSITION IN 3200

      BOOT ROM_1.JPG

      BOOT ROM.JPG

      Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1 Installation Guide.pdf

      imagePass C1 v2 Install.pdf

New Hardware Feature – Power ON/OFF in accordance with the copiers main power switch:
The imagePASS-C1 v2.0 can be turned ON/OFF using the copiers main power switch. This feature is made possible by the PCC PCB in the imagePASS-C1 v2.0. This feature requires that the power switch of the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 remain in the ON position.
The Power Control Circuit (PCC) allows the independent AC Power Supply of the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 to be controlled by the copier’s main ON/OFF switch. In order to accomplish this, a signal is sent along the Open Interface Cable from the copier to the imagePASS whenever the copier’s main power switch is turned ON/OFF. The PCC PCB monitors this signal and uses it to determine whether or not power should be sent from the power supply to the motherboard of the imagePASS. Hence, it is important to note that as long as the power switch on the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 is in the ON position, the power supply in the imagePASS will be active.
The main power switch on the copier will dictate whether or not power is sent to the motherboard of the imagePASS.
With the power switch of the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 in the ON position, the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 will power up when the copier’s main power switch is turned to the ON position. In order to turn OFF the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 (from a full running state), the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 must first be shutdown via the operation panel of the copier.
Then the copier’s main power switch can be turned OFF.
When servicing the imagePASS-C1 v2.0, it is important to turn OFF the power switch on the imagePASS itself and to disconnect the power cable.

          see link_________________http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/office/color_imagerunner_copiers/color_imagerunner_c2620_c3200_c3220/color_imagerunner_c3200#DriversAndSoftware

          Multi Pdl board .
Whenever you see the term 'Multi Pdl' that means it supports both Post Script and Pcl.
With the Multi Pdl Printer Kit A1 there are three types of print drivers; PS3, Pcl, and UFR.
The PS3 is a Post Script emulation (not true Post Script). You can download all these drivers--- see link above--

          u don't have a C1 -so disregard below
(imagePass C1 drivers are listed under ImagePass category).

but it's the "C" Boot Rom that ships as standard in printer= this is the Boot used with a imagePass C1/C2 Fiery attached-

"N" Boot is shipped with & used with the Multi-Pdl Kit
