remove>clean ends>re-seat
or-------------------------------------
waiting to print" message
If the System Monitor is checked, and u see a STAPLE LOADING message.
The main cause of this issue is that the finisher has run out of staples or the staple cartridge is missing or not properly installed.
or---------------------------------------
"Warming Up" or "Waiting To Print"
If the imageRUNNER indicate either or both of these messages, check to see if the Fixing temperature is rising. If it is, try disconnecting the Finisher. If the imageRUNNER will come to ready with the Finisher disconnected there may be a fault in communication with the Finisher, even though no error code is indicated.
Check to see if the Staple Cartridge is properly seated. It has been found if the Cartridge is not fully seated in the Stapler the above symptoms may be observed.
or--------------------------------------
??- is this when duplexing--if so>>
When duplexing, the horizontal registration sensor PS31 and horizontal registration motor M16 detect the edge of the copy paper. If there is a drive or sensor malfunction in horizontal detection, the copier will continue to rotate and the control panel indicates "waiting to print".
The sensor can be checked in service mode: I/O>PCON>bit 6 (0 = paper present)
The motor can be checked in service mode: FUNCTION>PART-CHK>set MTR to 23...................**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon IR 5055 waiting to print error?????
The finisher trays can cause the message. Is it intermittent? Usually you would need to reboot if this is the issue. Also maybe look at the error history to see if we have any 540,542 codes. Usually if it is in waiting to print, if you look at the tray it may be just a bit to high.Comment

Post the jam codes/
media type
jam on printing & copying
locations ?/check if listed paper size on control panel is correct**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon IR 5055 waiting to print error?????
when it jams the lead paper is at the fuser, part of the way thru, and the paper behind it maybe 3 to 4 pages are fanned from the lead page..look like train cars. They are maybe 1-2" on the page in front as if they were not being seperated. I have changed the feed tires and sep roller which makes it go longer between jams. It is dry in the copier room so we were thinking maybe static...You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it....and

remember....if the first copy does not exit properly> everything behind it stops/jams up

Re: Canon IR 5055 waiting to print error?????

Is the fixing unit good?Comment

Re: Canon IR 5055 waiting to print error?????
Don't know if you are still having jamming issue?
It is very common on this model for the lower fuser rolller/bearings to wear out this can cause the symptoms you describe
the part number for this is FM2-9789-000 and comes with the bearings fitted.
hope this helps.Comment

Re: Canon IR 5055 waiting to print error?????
When the bearings are shot the paper might sometimes pass but will intermittently die in the fuser. no other symptoms.I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.Comment
