[Misc] IRC-4080 , No paper types in bypass

    Hello,

I have a canon irc-4080 for two months now .. machine works ok but i do have some issues with paper type settings when sending prints thru the by pass.
The machine has a Fiery H1 with pcl6 driver installed.
The problem is that i can not get all the paper types available in print preferences, when sending print jobs for bypass tray.
The only paper type i get is plain 64-105gsm, when clicking paper details tab.
We print mostly on 100gsm and glossy plus some card stock 300 gsm satimate paper.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Re: IRC-4080 , No paper types in bypass

    see pdf/ or below----

All imageRUNNER-iR Series, All Color Enabled imageRUNNER Models, All imagePASS Series
Cannot Select Different Types of Paper through the Stack Bypass

When attempting to print from the Stack Bypass on any type of paper besides Plain (including recycled paper, color paper, bond paper, letterhead, heavy paper, transparencies, labels, tracing paper, card stock, tab paper, or 3-hole punch) you specify the type of paper on the LCD of the imageRUNNER. However, when you go into the print driver that same paper type is not available. If you go into the Printer Preferences and select Paper Source, then Paper Type, these additional paper types will not appear.

This occurs while using the PS3, UFRII and PCL versions of the driver. The diagrams within this article show the PCL driver properties, but the same principles apply for the PS and UFRII versions of the driver.

For example, if you select to print transparencies on the imageRUNNER LCD and then go to the workstation, the only option you will have is plain paper in the driver. If you select to print on plain paper at the imageRUNNER LCD (even if your not) it will print on another media, however not necessarily correctly. On the other hand if you select plain paper on the imageRUNNER LCD, and the workstation your using transparencies, it will read "Load Paper".

    Solution :
    The solution is as follows:

    1. Go to the Start>Settings>Printer folder. Right click on the printer in question and choose Properties.
    2. Go to the Device Settings tab, then click "Form to Tray Assignment".

    3. In the Form to Tray Assignment window, choose Stack Bypass and highlight all the types of paper which you intend to use.
    4. Click OK.

    5. The next time you go into the print driver and choose the type of paper you want, the options to choose those additional paper types will be available as displayed below

Thanks Teckat, i find it still a bit confusing.. because you can not choose a paper tray first than the paper type, (on desktop).

Compared to a kyocera color , you first choose any tray you like than any paper types you like to print on.
