Do a SENS-INT
in Service Mode > Feeder > Function > SENS-INT.
or perform a SENS-INT from the DADF controller.
procedure is to turn on bit 1, 4 and 6 on the DADF controller DIP switch SW1.
Place a solid black letter size copy face down in the original tray so that the green original present light is off. Press push switch SW2 on the DADF controller.
When the LED indicates 0, press SW2 on the DADF controller and turn all SW1 bits to off.

try replacing the Tray width VR. The VR is located on the pickup tray pcb assembly. Displayed below in Figure 162 of the Parts Catalog, item 8 is the VR. The part number is FG6-7770-050.
