Canon IR2018

Dear all ,
i have Canon IR2018 it give jam on the left cover before it reach heater and some times gives change paper size .and really i got mad from this what i do

i changed the feed a assembley with brand new one and still jammed and stuck at the same place it can copy one copy but in series it give a noise and the paper stuck can some one help me in this cos really upset . btw when i use the by pass it works normally .

Verify the state of the registration sensor flag.
Verify the state of the feed and sep rollers.
Verify your cassette pick-up assembly.

try to add an extra wrap to the spring for the Registration Sensor (SR209) flag
or try to replace registration clutch (FK2-1081-000)
could also be a defective Size Detection Assy. { FM2-3319-000 }

Message can also be caused by a broken or misaligned Position Block (shown below, Figure 310/312 in the Parts Catalog). If the cassette does not seem to be locking into place, this part may be the cause. In some cases, applying pressure to the front of the cassette will temporarily alleviate the problem.

Clean or replace the Feed Clutch at the rear of the machine.

Hello,

The registration clutch is a source of similar issues in this series. Clean or replace it. Today, in the same model, i have got an intermittent message "feed the right paper size" (it's an approximative translation from french). Cleaning the registration clutch has solved the issue.

Clean the grey feed rollers that are after the pick up assy ,they look shiny and give wrong paper size message as the paper slips going up towards the drum.use some wd40 on them until they have a mat finish. Have had loads cause this problem .

I agree with "canonclc" clean the grey pre registration roller, I also use WD40 works great to restore these rubber rollers.

You can also clean the registration clutch without removing it, i've got them going by flushing the clutch with some alcohol/ipa spray.

I also use WD40 works great to restore these rubber rollers.

Wd40 does work well,but I use platen clean rubber restorer now.used wd40 in the past and had no problems with rubber deteriorating .got me out of many a problem.
