is this on Glass COPIES & Fiery PRINTS
is this on Heavy Stock only ?
does the background cover the non-image area of the paper (if u run a PG10 u will see what I mean)
see example below of magenta background

    post some pics of issue--

remove right side cover to view ITB during printing> is the ITB SHEET full of toner

this could be a Laser issue--
Depending on what color is causing the background, will help you to diagnose where the problem lies. If the color is Yellow then the Yellow Laser must be replaced, if the color is Cyan then replace the Cyan Laser.
You can further troubleshoot the problem by swapping around the Lasers from one color station to the other but you must remember to input the Laser values in service mode which are printed on top of the Laser.

Check the Drum Unit Life - ADD FUNC > 2+8 > ADD FUNC > COPIER > DISPLAY > MISC, even with a Fiery the basics start here.

          good morning

must review the state of the drums especially the magenta toner spilling possibly within this unit because the cleaning brushes are worn and

Be careful with swapping lasers when laser is the cause. I had the same thing once and it blew up the drums as well when swapping the lasers. In my case the laser did not turn off, so it was beaming all the time which damaged the drums... So if you need to test it this way, test as shortly as possible and keep in mind that the drums can get lost.
