I use a Belkin USB to parallel cable purchased at radio shack. This cable came with a driver disc for Windows XP however Windows 7 does not seem to need the disk.

Sorry I have been working and have not had a chance to get back to this site. I have used this cable on the IR2200 up to the IR5070. I am sorry you can't get any other cables to work for you but this cable works for me and has been working for me for about 5 years now.

I have been working on Canons since 2000 and have Canon certs ranging from the old IR330 to the IR ADV6000/8000. So if you can't make a Belkin cable work I am sorry it works for me. If I still had access to Canon's technical support site or to the hard copies I had at the dealership I would find the tech pub about the discontinuation of the net hawk cable and to use a USB cable from Radio Shack that comes with a driver disk.

I wouldn't post about something here if I did not know it worked. What version of SST are you using and what cables have you tried. I will see if I can find the Belkin part number for the cable I use but it is possible that Belkin does not make that cable any more. Either way if you use the current SST and a good high quality USB to parallel cable should work.

Never seen a discontinuation pub from Canon on using a Belkin
-only seen Canon discontinuation pub on Nethawk

Canon's Nethawk cable has a chip in it that communicates with the copier and the SST
