    Memory RX Inbox

A 'memory box' is a special section of the machine's memory that you can think of as rather like a pigeonhole you might use for receiving mail. You can use the machine's memory boxes for receiving documents by FAX, storing scanned documents to be sent, or printing received documents. Confidential Memory Boxes are for Faxes only. The memory box requires you to use sub-addresses and RX passwords.
The memory boxes allow you to use functions with not only other Canon machines, but also any other machine that supports sub-addresses and RX passwords.
The machine uses sub-addresses to distinguish between different memory boxes, and RX passwords to prevent mistakes when sending or receiving documents. When a sub-address or RX password is set, the sender and the receiver can communicate only when they use the same sub-addresses and RX password.

    In order to Store a Memory Box for iR2200 / 2800 / 3300

    1. Press the ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS key.
    2. Press CUSTOM FAX SETTINGS.
    3. Press FILE SETTINGS.
    4. Press MEMORY BOX STORE/SET.
    5. Select the memory box number, then press STORE (memory box 1 is reserved for the Polling Memory Box).
    6. Select CONFIDENTIAL and then press OK.
    7. Enter the box name and then press OK (limited to 24 characters).
    8. Enter the password, then press OK.
    9. Enter the sub-address and RX password, then press OK.
    10. Make sure the stored settings are correct, then press OK.
    11. Press DONE.

Memory RX inbox will retain everything and will not delete receptions automatically. As a consequence, the box may fill up over a period of time with the result being the fax board will no longer receive.

This may happen in cases where a high volume of fax receptions occur since the capacity for receiving into a memory inbox is in the neighborhood of 2000 pages. In such a case it will be necessary for the user to go into the Memory RX Inbox and select items to delete.

You can erase any received document stored in the Memory RX Inbox or the Confidential Fax Inboxes when memory is full.

    1) Press [Mail Box].
    2) Select [Memory RX Inbox] or [Conf. Fax Inbox].

Note: [Memory RX Inbox]: To select a received document that has been stored in the Memory RX Inbox.
[Conf. Fax Inbox]: To select a received document that has been forwarded to the Confidential Fax Inbox.

    3) Select the documents that you want to erase.
    4) Press [Erase].
    5) Press [Yes].
    6) Press [Done].

          Re: fax copy

u mean RX Fax Polling or Fax on Demand ??????

Fax polling is a feature that allows one fax machine to send a request to another fax machine for a specific document. This process is also called fax on demand. A document can be scanned and left in the load tray, where it can be polled by another fax machine at the receiver's convenience. Both fax machines must have the polling feature to be able to complete the procedure. If there are multiple faxes, they can be stored digitally and a list can be set in the sending machine's memory to designate which fax numbers are allowed to poll a given document.

          ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The expanded RX functions are not enabled.
These functions are not high priority items, but are useful in certain environments. The most familiar or most used item would be the Incoming Ring function. Here, you can control the number of rings it takes before the fax will answer. The other items such as RX Mode, Incoming Ring, Remote RX & Manual / Auto Switch are mainly used in an environment in which the phone line is shared.

There are two ways to expand the RX functions depending on the imageRUNNER model:

          * If the imageRUNNER has a FAX based Service Mode: Enter Service mode>Special>Special SW><SW27 bit 7 to 1>

          * On Standard imageRUNNER Service modes: Enter Service mode>FAX>NCU>SpecialB><SW27 bit 7 to 1>

Once SW 27 bit 7 is set to 1, power cycle the imageRUNNER, select Additional Functions > Communication Setting > Fax Settings > RX Settings. All expanded RX functions will now be displayed.

Note: The Auto/Manual RX setting is not listed under Additional Functions > Communication Setting > Fax Settings > RX Settings.
These buttons are found under System Monitor > Fax > Received Job Status. Additionally, the Auto/Manual setting will not be available on the "two line" control panel displays (imageRUNNER 2016 / 2018 / 2020 / 2022). To change these models for "Manual RX", change the ring wait time. NCU > Auto RX > 006 = 2500 will change the incoming ring count to about 5.
