    SEND FUNCTION
    (STANDARD)

    PRINTER FUNCTION
    (STANDARD)

The Universal Send options will not display on the LCD if the required 128 MB USB Flash Drive is not properly installed.
This USB Flash Drive comes standard on the imageRUNNER 2016i / 2020i models.

Remove the back cover and look at the Image Processor Assembly. If you look at the mounted Image Processor Assembly, you will find a USB port on its left side (upper left hand corner). The 128 MB USB Flash Drive must be attached to this USB port. If the 128 MB USB Flash Drive is missing, you will need to replace it. The part number for the 128 MB USB Flash Drive is FK2-1101-000. Be sure to search the inside of the machine to make sure that the flash drive did not simply fall out. If the 128 MB USB Flash Drive is present, try re-seating it.

If the required 128 MB USB Flash Drive is installed, and the Universal Send options are still missing from the LCD,
you must reinstall the latest system software on the copier.
The following modules must be installed from a PC connected to the copier via a USB cable using the Service Support Tool:

    - System (main controller) *
    - Boot (boot program)
    - PCL (PCL printer kit -J1)

Clear the Machine and Remove the Contents from the USB Flash Drive:

If you still have the issue, perform the following steps:

    1. Do a clear-all on the copier from Service Mode. This will wipe out all of your settings and documents from memory. Be sure to back up any important data before performing the clear-all.

    2. Shut down the copier and remove the USB Flash Drive (see the picture above). Take the USB Flash Drive to a computer that can view its contents and erase all of its contents. Place the USB Flash Drive back in the copier (see the picture above). Power on the copier.

    3. If the Universal Send options are still not displayed, try reinstalling the system software again.

Sending documents via fax is available only if the optional Super G3 FAX Board or Super G3
      Multi-Line Fax Board is installed.

Did you set up a shared folder first with the correct permissions. You can browse out from the machine to see what file servers(PC's) pop up from you network. If you know each PC's computer description (name), user name and password. You should have no problem. What O.S are the PC's, windows XP, vista, windows 7. answer these ?'s first.
