[Misc] Canon IR2016i and ComSwitch 7500

    Hello,
I have purchased a Comswitch 7500 to have all devices on one phone line - Canon IR 2016i and Telephone with answering machine. I tried and tried to set this up without a communicator but was unsuccessful. I got the communicator in. The fax works fine if it is plugged directly to the phone line. However, when I add the communicator I get the error - TX Function was not completed. Also says result is NG No signal. Do you have any suggestions on the appropriate settings on the Canon IR 2016i so that is will run through the communicator.

    Thanks, Trshi

Try turning off Check Dial Tone Before Sending.

This setting is under Additional Functions > Communication Settings > Fax TX Settings > Check Dial Tone Before Sending.

    also do below--------------------------

    press ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
    scroll to 3. TX/RX SETTINGS
    press OK button
    scroll to 2. FAX SETTINGS
    press OK button
    scroll to 2. TX SETTINGS
    press OK button
scroll to 5. DIALING LINE CHCK
    press OK button
    set this value to OFF
    press OK button
    press STOP to exit

    also check-------------

Additional Functions followed by Communications Settings. Look at the left side at Common Settings and select TX Settings> Edit Standard Send Settings

I changed everything on canon and it is working fine so the answer is yes on the below info but it turns out that the communicator was a bad. Ugh! I have returned the communicator. I give up on adding the communicator at this time. But all is well. Thanks!
