Have a copier that produces grainy images wheather you print or make copies. I have tested with new transfer belt, all drum units. re-entered all laser settings, original drums are at 35%, ITB and cleaning blade are at 50%. In service mode function i cleaned ITB and dev. assy. Any ideas?. Thanks.

Grainy image is usually a secondary transfer problem. Did u replace the ITB or it;s complete unit? Did u replace the secondary transfer roller in the fixing/duplex drawer? Check the contacts under that transfer roller and the ones connecting those with the ones inside the machine.

Next replace or reseat the High Voltage PCB 3, it;s the small one powering the secondary transfer roller. Mounted close to the fixing heat exhaust fan. If not, u can replace the other 2 Highvoltage PCB's or replace/reseat the mcon and dcon 1.

Does it have an external print controller (Fiery H1?)

FIRST --check image on ITB before separation>fixing/
use a PG10 to view on ITB> remove small cover to view ITB rotation of PG 10 on sheet

if belt image is good> inspect the secondary HVT terminal -
make sure it is not bent downward
terminal should ride above the contact plate. When the ITB belt is raised, it lifts the secondary transfer assembly causing the secondary assembly plate to contact the terminals. The image below shows normal looking HVT terminals.

THIS IS A GRAINY EXAMPLE OF POOR CONTACTS---YES/NO ???????????
