Canon 3080i Customer experience with J1 Fiery Controller Would like to discuss status

Are you familiar with this family using a J1 fiery with windows 7 ? I do have the J1 updated to the latest version but had to get windows 7 drivers from somewhere else. Not sure if there is a newer version of Sys software.

Is this a great experience with windows 7 ? Im worried about the print drivers and the fiery software in windows. Is it fine as wine or are there problems?

You shouldn't have any problems!

Thanks ST , No, I do not have easy E support access to the download area. if someone would like to chime in on the subject...im all ears. Got the J1 drivers from Canon. Canada.

In order to connect the Fiery to its supported 'i' model copier, you will need to order the appropriate Open Interface Board. The Open Interface Board comes standard on the base model copiers (ex. C3380).
It is an option for the 'i' model copiers (ex. C3380i).

Thanks for the info. I do have version 1.1 loaded that supports windows 7. I think my most important part of this question concerns the software that gets loaded on the PC, overall customer experience. Maybe there is no one here who has experience printing using this system in a customers environment?

Who knows what the latest version of software is that you can use on the J1 Imagepass ? 1.1 comes with 4.5 EFI website has 5.4 and it works but the new hot folders did not work on XP.

These machines are not sold very often, most customers bought the CLC3200 or CLC4040. Color is also better then the 3380, but maintenance is more expensive, 3200 fixing gets flat spots, 4040 fixing is an expensive b*tch to replace.

Try to search on google for "gebruikte copier" or "gebruikte kopieermachine" it means used copier in Dutch. You will find a lot of companies selling and exporting those machines.
