Ir Adv C5035 Double Pass Feeder Original Detect Sensor binding

Hey chaps,

Wondering if any of you has run across a c5035 with the double pass scanner (not duplex image reader) that the original detect sensor flag does not drop down. The innermost bracket allows the flag to move a good 1/2". When I spoke with CCI yesterday he told me there was a mod but didn't provide an updated part number nor a bullet. If anyone could post me the bulletin or part number for the new open/close cover part that'd be awesome.

It'll code with a 0001 j-code. Feeds the job then after the last sheet is passed the sensor flag is still in up position making the machine think that there is still paper to feed.

It'll code with a 0001 j-code. Feeds the job then after the last sheet is passed the sensor flag is still in up position making the machine think that there is still paper to feed.

Intermittent jam code 0001 in the DADF.
When running documents through the feeder, the last page is scanned and then stops at the delivery sensor PCB5 (FM2-1022-000). The feed rollers will then drop down twice trying to pick up more pages when there are no pages left.


Try replacing sensor SR1 (WG8-5783-000) on the document tray .
For troubleshooting purposes you can swap sensors SR1 with SR8 (LTR-R/LGL identification sensor).




is this the open/close cover you're talking about ?????

lower left panel is important and needs to be attached as it helps to actuate the sensors SR1 DADF open/closed sensor 1 and SR3 DADF open/closed sensor 2.

Hey teck, no it's the original detect sensor flag in the open/close tray assembly (the top cover you open to remove jams). When you load originals you trip the original detect sensor flag, which in turn detects that there is paper in the tray to be fed, the same sensor that you trip and the green led on the feeder lights up. What's happening is that the paper is feeding but the flag is not dropping down, thus making the machine thinks that there's paper still there. It tries a pickup cycle and fails due to there being no paper there. The flag sits in two plastic brackets, one is a hole and the other is a kind of oval. The inner oval bracket that holds the flag allows the flag to move 1/2" causing it to bind. I was told by CCI that there was a mod but didn't get a TBP or part number for the new part. If you need further clarification I can take a boot out there and take a short avi of exactly what's happening.

Hi,

I might be off the marker but would it helps if the sensor flag is kinda of modify with black tape(a bit) to allow a wider area of sensor detection.

If it solve your jam problem, then you would really need the correct mod to resolve it permanently.

Not the single pass double sided image reader. The cheapy feeder. You put your hand into the original tray and you trip the same sensor I'm talking about. Trying to take pics but my android crapped out. It would be SR6 I believe. And the problem I'm having is the inner bracket has too much play, the sensor flag comes up gets caught up and doesn't drop down. It used to be called original detection sensor on all the bnw's but they changed them on the advance series.

Thank you and yep. It's not the single pass image reader it's the one that has to reverse the page and feed back in. Spoke with cci today he's going to take a look at it for me. Thanks for the bulletin btw teck

Ok so I heard back from CCI but there's no official mod for it yet. Got a couple ideas to try out so will take some pics pre and post mod to explain exactly what's going on.
