    ir2520 add paper

    Customer has an ir2520 with a single 250 sheet cassette, that, originally, when you switched it on or it came out of standby, showed no cassette or paper size on the screen . once the cassette was opened and closed, the display showed the cassette and the correct size and paper available. This stayed on display until the machine went onto standby or was switched off. Customer put up with this without putting in a service call but now the machine is losing the cassette and size display after a short while. Side feed works ok. machine is less than six months old, has all the cassette latch modifications and the latest software. The dc controller has been cleared and software uploaded. The paper sensor on the feed assembly has been changed and the switches behind the cassette have been checked. There have been a number of similar posts on this forum but no firm answer. Can anyone help?

      Control Panel CPU ??

              Thanks Blazebusiness, I have seen that techpub and the machine has the modified part already. The cassette physically makes the switches but the machine doesn't recognise it at all until it is pulled out and pushed back in once. It then seems to recognise the cassette every time it is opened and closed.

              Teckat, thanks for your post, I didn't quite understand about the control panel cpu, but i can see the logic in the power supply being faulty. I would be interested in how many engineers have had problem machines with add paper issues on this series of machines.

              Canon have finally got back to me and suggested changing the dc controller pcb. Have ordered this today, but am a bit sceptical. would value your opinion!
