    IR5000 Jamming

Jams at reg sensor. Jam code 0101. Sometimes rollers turn a little and paper gets into the rollers, other times it stops at the entrance. All trays jam. Checked IO in service mode. Sensor doesnt change state. Changed sensor and DC no different. Replaced fuser connectors a few weeks ago but that went smoothly so I haven't taken apart yet to look for a pinch or something. Gonna try to swap transport assembly with another machine tomorrow. Any ideas would be great. BTW if i block sensor and power up it doesnt indicate a jam which it should.

    PS29
J106-A9= Registration paper detection signal (RGPD
if this is the sensor> u need to disconnect the connector from it> look to see how many intermediate connectors are connected in it's path back to J106 on DCpcb>disconnect J106 ON DCpcb & do a continuity test between disconnected sensor connector end & disconnected J106

it all starts with the initial supply to the connector

believe it or not / if u look at your manual circuit diagram -the supply & signal from the DC to this sensor goes through six connector points/ looks like the circuit diagram in manual >pin number for RGPD is differant

Good advice Teckat. Thanks. I think that is the right pin. Thats what was on wiring diagram. I got a constant 24vdc. That goes thru fixing feeder board and around fixing frame so there are several intermediate connectionsGonna spend time on it tomorrow if we don't get buried in snow too early.

I see that 24V/ thought the sensor had a 5V supply ? >GD and signal RGPD (Change of State)

        hate snow-----good luck

OK I assume full resposibility for this one. When I replaced the connector on rear of fuser, I pinched a wire between the connector and its bracket. Live and learn. At least its working.
