Canon seem to find where to put it the IP on this machine? Is it some place else that the normal place? It has the fax and the print kit (hard drive) in it. The display says to check the TCP/IP connection. But when I go to put it in I do not see a place for it.

Re: Canon ir3530 - network setup
Found something
imageRUNNER 2230/2830/3530/2270/3570/4570
When looking in System settings, under the TCP/IP settings, the IP address selection was missing and an IP address could not be entered.
Also, the multicast discovery setting could not be found either since it is in TCP/IP settings. MMI clear was performed but the issue did not change.
CHECK THIS SETTING BELOW-----------if at "0" try a MMI Clear
After considering that the TCP/IP address could not be changed and that the machine had an N version bootrom, a Service Mode setting was checked.
The Service Mode Setting was, COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE, this setting was set to 4.
The Service Mode Setting COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE needs to be 0 on this machine since no image controller can be used.
In this case, it was resolved after setting it to 0. The clue was the missing TCP/IP address could not be changed.
MMI =Clears the following settings in User mode
- Backup data (user-defined values) for copy operations
- Backup data (user-defined values) of common settings
- Various backup data (user-defined values), excluding fax
The settings are cleared when the main power switch is turned OFF and ON.
before a MMI CLEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would print out a USER-PRT
COPIER > FUNCTION > MISC-P>
USER-PRT

another point to note afterward --
turn Multicast Discovery: OFF

You need to set <RX/Print Range> if any of the following options are installed:

OK fot the copier IP address put in. Upgraded the firmware. The RUI is turned on but I can not see it from a computer. I can ping the address from a computer, I can ping the computer from the copier, I can even ping the Gateway from the copier. Just can not see the copier from the browser.
Thanks

1. Flash the copier with the correct version of RUI firmware.--DONE
2. Be sure to enable HTTP and RUI on the copier.----DONE
3. Be sure to enable "Dedicated Port" on the copier.--DONE ?
when u Launch the RUI in Internet Explorer (http://ip_address)
what do u see ??? is it RUI Content Not Found

Re: Canon ir3530 - network setup
When I go and put in the IP address of the copier on the computer it show something "page cannot be displayed", page not found of something like that.
Suppose to be a UFR E3.
The option the turn it OFF / ON on the display is there. Just can not see it from a computer.Comment

Re: Canon ir3530 - network setup
clear the cache of your web browser/
did u try another computer or laptop ??
verify the following:
- IP address range settings are allowed.
- Browser settings ( not using a proxy server)
- Port's 80 or 8000 are not being blocked on the network.
- Test with a laptop via a crossover cable.
- Perform a CLEAR MMI in service mode. (Be sure to print out all user settings prior to performing MMI Clear. They will be erased when MMI is cleared.
- Format the hard drive and re-install system software
- In service mode OPTION>BODY>RMT-LANG (en)
- In additional function>System settings>Remote UI (enabled)
--------------------------------------------------
Did u enable "Dedicated Port" on the copier.yes ???
do u have the 128MB Expansion Ram needed>Installed for this Kit??
click on pic below to view
UFR II Kit-E3.JPG
to Determine the Amount of Memory Installed:
1. Enter Service Mode by pressing Additional Functions, 2 and 8 simultaneously, then Additional Functions again.
2. Press Copier > ACC-STS.
3. Check the RAM option. If it displays 128 MB, then you must install the 128 MB DIMM from the printer kit to make the total RAM 256 MB.
If it already displays 256 MB, do not add the extra 128 MB DIMM from the printer kit.Last edited by teckat; 03-01-2013, 01:54 AM.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon ir3530 - network setup
In my experience this has 99% of the time been bad firmware. I see you did the firmware to fix entering the IP, but I would try downloading a new copy of system software and force/overwrite data. Does your irr3530 series have a HDD? We ran into that on the irxx30's where we had to add the fax kit and HDD before we could add the UFRII kit. I think I did that where I put the non-HDD system software even though it had a HDD. Had to reinstall systme software. The chance that higher life forms might have emerged in this way is comparable to the chance that a tornado sweeping through a junkyard might assemble a Boeing 747 from the materials therein. -Fred HoyleComment

Re: Canon ir3530 - network setup
did u check the memory ??
do u have two 128MB or the one 256MB /
can only use one 128MB in each slot or the 256MB in one slot- any more = no function
could be the P Boot Rom ???
I now think I would re-Format that HDD > then reload the Firmware> then check again>Attached Files**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
