    ir3245 cassette no 3

    Hi all,
I have an IR 3245 with four cassettes, the cassette no. 3, didn't lift the paper, and always the screen displays add paper, the cassette no. 4 is working good.
I checked the push bottom switches, press them manually that the cassettes push them when closed, but no response occurred,
any idea about this problem please,

remove the cassette and check to see if paper is caught behind it

Have you taken apart the paper pickup assembly to diagnose the problem yet? Replace the whole Paper Pickup assy or remove and disassemble the paper pickup assembly that's not working to find the part that has failed and replace it. Obviously it's cheaper to diagnose and repair the assembly in the copier rather than replace the whole unit.

the cassette feed unit is nothing but plastic with plastic gears. If the ratch gears are not lifting the cassette plate then you may want to check the drive in back of the feed unit. I replace the entire assembly when they break as the cost is not worth repairing.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
